Bamboo Grill And Sushi in Lihue

Been here twice. Everything were good and above most other places.

We make sure to visit Bamboo Grill for breakfast at least once every time we visit Kauai. The Hawaiian bread French toast is the best I've ever had anywhere in the world. The occasional chicken wandering through provides added entertainment.

Food wasn’t too bad but wasn’t anything special. Service was poor. Our food was cold when we got it, after I asked to send it back, she acted like it was a huge inconvenience. I got it back microwaved... eggs aren’t that great microwaved. Poor attitudes from the staff. The pancakes came highly recommended but we were definitely disappointed!

The sushi was good, but the staff was rude and acted like the customers were an inconvenience... My husband ordered chicken and it was very gritty, he left still hungry.

Their creamy macadamia pancake is so delicious, I had to come back for more.

Had breakfast here. Top notch. Very friendly service. Little slow but this is Kauai. Pancakes fluffy and Mac syrup is amazing.

Overpriced, as to be expected in a resort area. Their "famous" white gravy was incredibly salty, which is good if you're in the mood for that. Would be good hangover food.We were pretty excited about the bananas foster pancakes, but they were smothered in fake syrup so you couldn't even taste the bananas. I'm feeling a little sick just thinking about it, and I ate less than half of it.Service was slow, inattentive, and unapologetic. Coffee had been sitting too long and tasted weak, a real disservice to Hawaiian coffee!

The food is a good game from the rest of the beach but the staff is lackluster at best. You will get a heavy dose of Island arrogance from Bamboo especially from the kitchen staff. Drinks and sushi is alright but probably the worst option on the beach.

We had breakfast here. The pancakes are delicious. The coffee was great. And the friendly service was amazing. You can sit out back and watch the surfers and waves.

I eat here every week. Friendly staff, great food, good prices, wonderful live music, sea breeze and ocean view. A local favorite hangout.

One of the worst places I've ever eaten. The food was not that great, the flies would get to the food quicker than we could. So very many better places to eat on the Island. Don't waste your time.

Ok, surprised at how great this place was. The steak pupu is an absolute must. The beer was exactly cold enough too. Love it.

Having had a great sushi experience on Oahu, it was our last day on Kauai and we wanted to end it with another sushi dinner. After seeing what was around us and weighing the options, we decided to try Bamboo Grill and Sushi. We entered and were served immediately, and our waiter was very friendly and engaging. Our food came in record time - it only took them a few minutes to prepare it - and the presentation was well done and appetizing. The sushi was amazing, as was the fried kalamari! Would definitely return, easy 5 star rating.

Not lying about the pancakes! My wife love it and I had the spicy chicken and it was also very good with the side of mac n cheese with rice. Also friendly service

I am from the old school era and seeing it brings back a lot of memories. The calamari, pupu steak, cheesy garlic bread, ans sushi are incredible. I recommend eating here.

Friendly staff and reasonable prices in a resort village. Wait times can border on ridiculous.

Good sushi, the sushi chef Dana is great at what she does. The service is good plus they always have great local entertainment

Food was okay. Service was EXTREMELY slow. Waited 15 min to order food after drinks and appetizer was gone. Watched our order sit on counter for 5 minutes before it was brought to us. Music was good. Overall just better places to go if you're visiting.

Service was great! We wanted to move to an outside table and the staff was very courteous. Food was good, large portions and comparable prices. I recommend the fried house saimin, and the macadamia Hawaiian sweet bread French toast!

We shared chicken Katsu. Big portion. Really yummy! My lady had a pineapple mojito that was excellent! Bloody Mary was great! Staff was friendly. Definitely recommend

The sushi was great! But by far the worst service i have ever had in my life. Our waitress took our order and drop it off and she never came back to our table again. After we finished our food i waited at least 10 or more minites for her and she never once even looked at us. I finally asked another server if he could help us and he gave us our check. I have never had such bad service.

Well, we visit this restaurant once every other week. Yes, we love it that much. Service is great - they treat you like family. Food is awesome - try the fried ginger chicken.

The food was good, but I was so disappointed with how we were treated. We didn’t realize they closed at two so when we went in their they gave us water and menus then added that they close in 30 minutes. We ordered and the food was brought at quickly and we were never checked on again, they never refilled our waters, and I had to go ask for a bill. They give you a good amount of meat, but the “side salad” is literally lettuce cut up with ranch.

With so many great places to eat on the island, why eat here? We stopped in for breakfast and most of the tables had dirty dishes on them. We thought they must have just had a rush and were recovering. Nope! Those tables sat dirty while the server chatted with another staff member. Service was slow and our food was ice cold. We ate it anyway and when we were done, put a credit card on the edge of the table to pay. We waited for a painfully long time when the server finally brought the bill. Seeing that she may never be back, we paid with cash instead. We left and went for a walk on the beach. On our way back about 25 minutes later, we walked by the restaurant and noticed that our dirty plates were still on the table. I hope the owner reads this review and makes some changes. This is a good location with lots of potential.

Great Mac nut pancakes and Excellent poke available after 5pm. Fair service at best.

We popped in not far from closing time, and they were still very accomodating and warm friendly, the dishes were huge, really good local beer also, great tasting food as well. Fast service, good quality. An allround winner for a local place to eat!

Staff were friendly but food wasn't great.

It was just okay. We asked for cream cheese in our roll and they pretty much left it out. Melted butter with a sushi roll is NOT good. The best thing was the garlic edamame.

The pancakes were as good as anywhere i have ever eaten...probally better...the server was not very good, thats why only 4 star....but we will be back, they were that good.

Very casual place next to the Marriott. We came here for breakfast and had delicious macadamia nut pancakes. Reasonable price for the location. Much cheaper than the Marriott resort.

Girl was really nice she also made the experience. Food was nice. Place smelt like a wet dog, sticky beer tables. honest opinion.

The food was great, but I feel the prices are a bit expensive! Nice portions and good service.

Sushi Dinner- tasty rolls (try the lava crab roll) and good drinks! Good service, decent view.

If you like your sushi real slow go for it (I am referring to the service)! And if you look close, you will actually find some fish hidden between the rice. Overall, one star, since the quality is comparable to Trader Joe’s sushi.

Decent, view is okay but the restaurant is in poor shape. Dirty, and looks like it hasn't been loved on for 20 years. Breakfast is pretty good and the price is fair.

Sushi is excellent. Mai Tai's are good. But the highlight was whoever the guy was playing guitar and singing on stage. Great song choices and could sing and play very well!

We enjoyed our sushi at Bamboo Grill and Sushi. Some of the rolls were large and very filling. We went during their happy hour where a lot of the sushi and appetizers were half off or really discounted. We enjoyed our cocktails but wished they had more beers on tap.

Great breakfast, service, and prices. My omelette was prepared well and quickly. They were very accommodating when I wanted to change a couple of things. Nice view of the beach.
